Don’t let him in – Lisa Jewell
What if the man you married isn’t who he has he is? Nick, or whatever his name is leaves a whole trail of women, children and a lot of debt each time taking on a new identity so he’ll never be found again. He’s a pretty OK guy, until you cage him then he’s like a dog with a bone and his vengeance isn’t the nice kind. Read about what he’s done and his victims in this book. But be warned, it’s kind of disappointing.
Shield of Sparrows – Devney Perry
I can’t even with this story, it’s been worth all the attention it has gotten since the release. This book is over 600 pages which is thick but it wasn’t long enough for me. If it was double the pages, I would’ve still loved every bit of it. The writing is exquisite, the characters are just amazing. The guardian being moody and sarcastic while Odessa tries to be what people want her to be. This really is the best romantasy I’ve read in a long time, maybe ever.

Not quite dead yet – Holly Jackson
How hard can it be to solve your own murder? Jet gets whacked in the head three times but miraculously she survives. The prognosis? Not good. A week or less to live but throughout she will be deteriorating. She’ll find out who did it even if it’s the last thing she ever does. It gives her purpose, compartmentalizing that the end is near. Because she really doesn’t want to die, but that option is off the table. Can she do it?

The orphanage by the lake by Daniel G. Miller.
Some of the things in this book does give a “sheer dumb luck” or “it just fell into your lap” kind of vibe instead of real investigative work but still, the main character is likeable and relatable. The other characters are well thought out. The story and the progression of the story is very good and it had my attention from page one on.
