Message Deleted – K.L. Slater

Saffy has always been the overprotective friend but three years ago something happened which made Saffy insufferable. Always checking up on you and always thinking the about the worst that could happen. When her best friend Leona sent some weird and frightening messages just as Saffy is about to go into a job interview, she bolts even though the messages get deleted instantly. Just hours after Saffy confirmed her friend was fine, does the family go missing and Saffy becomes the prime suspect.

The Priory of the orange tree – Samantha Shannon

Aed, warrior from the Priory working as a handmaiden for the Queen of Inys to stay close to her majesty for protection. Little does she know how the queens court has made steps to get rid of the queen. With the certainty of ‘the nameless one’ to rise again, they need to prepare themselves. Without alliances because of differences in beliefs it is time to rise above and become one great world again to have the hope of defeating this dragon once and for all.

Bunny – Mona Awad

I actually have a bit of difficulty writing a review on this one, this book was so weird. Samantha is a student at Warren, a university for the Arts. She is in her graduation year, so there is not much time left. One thing she hates about Warren? The bunnies; A clique of girls that call each other bunny and are way to optimistic for this world. But once she gets invited to a bunny event and is slowly brainwashed into becoming one of them, it just gets weirder and weirder.

My husband’s wife – Alice Feeney

The Queen of mindf*cks has done it again; writing a deliciously psychological book. When a woman goes for a run before, she goes to her first art exhibition and arrives home to get dressed, her key doesn’t fit in the lock, but how, why? When a woman claiming to be her opens the door, she thinks she might be losing the plot. Her husband also says he doesn’t know her which leaves one other person that can identify her, her daughter that hasn’t spoken in 10 years since the accident. When she’s there and her daughter whispers ‘You. Are. Not. My. Mother.’ She can’t believe her ears. The next day Eden goes missing.

The house Saphir – Marissa Meyer

The Fontaine sisters are frauds. Yes, their mother was a well-known witch; but they are not. Mallory has had a fascination for Monsieur Le Bleu; a wealthy man that killed his wives. His house actually stands in her hometown and has been long ago abandoned; but that isn’t where all the excitement is about. When a descendant from Le Bleu proposes a job, she can’t resist even though she doesn’t know how she can actually expel a dark spirit from an estate; but she’s a con artist, she can figure something out. This haunting is on a whole other level though and is quite dangerous.

Dead in the water – John Marrs

This was one of the hardest books to review without spoiling but I think I did a good job. Damon is in his twenties, has been divorced and isn’t where he wanted to be in live. Spicing things up by making a deal with Mel -his ex- to do something out of their comfort zone once a month. Out of his comfort zone is easy, make him swim in an ocean, but when Mel can’t see him anymore, she starts to panic. Did a rip current get him? Once she finally located him and swims him safely back to the shore, she starts CPR immediately. When he finally comes round his first question is ‘Did you see the boy?!’
