Immortal consequences – I.V. Marie

I.V. Marie’s Immortal Consequences introduces readers to Blackwood Academy, a supernatural purgatory where young souls wait centuries for a chance to “ascend” or find peace. The story follows six students who witness the impossible arrival of a new girl wielding forbidden shadow magic, an event that signals a deep shift in their world’s rules. Bound by an unbreakable soul vow, these protagonists are forced to compete in the Decennial, a brutal series of four gruesome trials designed to test their limits. Amidst the physical pain of the competition, the group uncovers dark academy secrets and faces the looming threat of the Demien order’s infiltration.

The story follows the lifelong bond between Joy, who manages the challenges of narcolepsy, and her devoted best friend Bennie as they navigate friendship and eventual fame. After years apart, the duo reunites to launch a massively successful survival podcast, only for the situation to turn deadly when Joy and Xander suddenly go missing. Bennie is left in a desperate race against time to uncover the truth behind a discovered body and find out if his best friend is still alive.

Soul of Shadow – Emma Noyes

A lot is about to change for Charlie once she knows the new guy’s secret. A Mare wandering around in Silver Springs and teenagers gone missing. Norse symbols carved in trees and the ‘truth’ about the world being revealed once eating some special berry. A world filled with creatures, good ones but also very bad and deadly ones. When the story unravels and a lot of information comes to light everything unravels.

We who will die – Stacia Stark

This review describes a fast-paced fantasy story set in a world with vampires, mythical creatures, and powerful Sigilmarked individuals. It follows Arvelle, who enters deadly trials after a vampire promises to heal her sick brother if she survives and assassinates the emperor. Along the way, she faces brutal challenges, unexpected betrayals, and reconnects with a mysterious figure from her past. The story is full of twists, political intrigue, and violence, with many competing factions and hidden motives. Despite being complex and sometimes overwhelming, I found it very engaging, recommending it to fans of action-packed, dark fantasy like The Hunger Games and The Vampire Diaries.
