Starting a new month which means two new books from the ’26 in 26’ challenge. This month the spin the wheel chose ‘The final girl support group’ by Grady Hendrix and ‘Psycho Shifters’ by Jasmine Mas.
The book I chose to read first was ‘The final girl support group’ by Grady Hendrix because I was craving a good thriller book and Grady doesn’t disappoint. This book wasn’t at all what I expected it to be, I thought it would be focused on the support group and how the girls came to be in that group.
Let’s begin, shall we?

The support group gathers once a month in a church basement and not at one of the doctor’s fancy offices because they wanted it to stay low profile – a bit of anonymity regarding fans or just strangers in general. All the girls attending have picked up their lives one way or another. Adrienne bought the camp where her tragedy happened and made it a better place; for girls and woman who have suffered abuse. Marilyn married someone rich and lives a lush live, Dani married the woman she loves and lives on a ranch… The only woman that still lives in fear with her fight or flight switch still switched on is Lynette.
When the news breaks that there was another mass murder at the camp Adrienne owns and that she also has been murdered, Lynette’s brain goes in overdrive; almost certain all the final girls from the group are in danger. When Julia comes to Lynette’s house with a reporter to tell her heather is releasing a book and gunfire opens from somewhere across the street, killing the reporter instantly; her brain tells her to run, leave everything and everyone behind and just… run! She does, but it seems like all her carefully orchestrated back up plans are all smoked.
Heather’s halfway house has burned down and staying at the doctor’s home address is a no go, it’s time to visit Marilyn and tell her about her fear of them being targeted. Every woman that is still standing thinks Lynette has lost her marbles which has Lynette ‘kidnapping’ a girl, collect evidence and visiting crazy Chrissy which almost costs her live. Thinking the doctor is actually the one setting them up and killing them off, but then the plot twist sets in and it’s not what you think!
All the girls are fighting for their lives, will they survive? Who actually is the culprit / culprits and why?!
This book was so good; I actually didn’t see the twist coming. It was beautifully written and had me wanting to pick the book back up as soon as I had the time to sit down.
It’s worth a solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars in my eyes.
