Whilst the new book by Silvia Moreno-Garcia called The Intrigue was a fast DNF, the new book by Ashley Winstead called Hot girl murder club I had to do my best to finish because in all honesty it was a bit to chaotic for my taste. There were so many characters POV and I have to say, the ending. I don’t really get it(?)

Hot girls murder club is about two young girls wanting to live the Hollywood dream and become famous movie stars but the climb is steep. Scout and Isabel have been friends for a long time and Scout’s sister Georgia is been coming along for the ride. Georgia has been going to school and became friends with Alden, a boy that has been following her like a lovesick puppy. Scout and Isabel finally land a role in a TV show and are celebrating at a bar with Georgia, who has invited Alden to come along. Trying to impress the lady he likes he invites all three to his father’s famous Christmas party; his father being the top hoss at ABS, being introduced to him could mean serious roles and loads of money!
The day of the party has finally arrived; Scout, Isabel and her boyfriend Brooks and Georgia enter the insanely large mansion and can’t believe how many big names are attending. Alden soon takes Georgia away to let her meet his father Easton, promising to introduce them later. Scout and Isabel decide to mingle and hours pass. When it’s close to three, they decide that maybe it’s time to go but they can’t seem to find Georgia. After looking through the house they find their way to the pool house where they find a body. Strangled and with her head caved; it’s Georgia.
Scout is sure Alden did it and since the police are doing nothing, she decides to go to the mansion with Isabel to scare him enough so he’ll confess. Beaten within an inch of death he still denies doing anything to Georgia. Soon after they leave Alden hangs himself.
10 years later; Scout has been moving up to a middle-class celebrity with Isabel as her assistant, always surrounded by famous people but there’s also some kind of pattern. She’s always surrounded by people that have had something happen with their other half, manager etc etc and when someone is found dead with a lyric by Scout painted on the wall, speculation begins. Women thinking she’s the leader in some kind of revenge movement.
The LAPD are looking into it but Scout’s adamant she’s never seen the victim in her live, then another body drops and this to has a lyric of her nearby the body and even her DNA on scene. That’s when Isabel talks Brooks into helping them uncover who is setting Scout up; in the end they don’t only find out who was setting her up, they also find out what happened to her sister and solved a 12 year old missing persons case.
I’m giving this book a ⭐⭐⭐ star rating.
