I wanted to end March with a book that had a high rating on Goodreads, a book that was released in March also and something that was somewhat of a light read and I found that in this book by Tiffany Crum called This story might save your life.
I finished this book a little after midnight so, technically I finished it on the first of April but alas I’m still counting this one for march.
The rating on Goodreads? I totally get, it was such a good book to read with a topic that is so 2026. Let’s begin, shall we?

This story is about two podcasters that became best friends’ way before they became famously known for their podcast. Joy suffered from narcolepsy since she was a late teen, a condition that can isolate you pretty quickly. Narcolepsy is a chronic neurological disorder where the brain seems to be unable to regulate sleep-wake cycles which basically means that you can fall asleep as any given time. After a few years and the right medication Joy really wants to spread her wings and leave home.
When at a concert she meets this guy and they instantly clicked; they could talk for hours on end (with pauses since Joy had a tight sleeping and nap schedule) and had the same humor. Finally, a friend in her live that doesn’t mind her weird ‘’ illness ‘’ or the schedules. Everyone needs a protector, a best friend, a Bennie. Live goes smooth with Joy’s graphic design job she can do at home at her own leisure.
After years of the best friendship, Bennie’s father suddenly dies and he has to go to his hometown to sort everything out which takes a while. Joy couldn’t come due to her narcolepsy and some kind of virus she was fighting, when Joy goes out to work in a local coffee shop a very handsome man approaches her and within a very short period of time that man became her boyfriend, Xander. On first appearance Xander looks like the complete package, something you really want in a guy you’re sharing your live with. Caring, can cook, wants to listen to what you have to say, kindhearted and so on and so forth. But a year in their marriage something changes.
Caring becomes overprotective, kindhearted becomes jealousy; so, when Xander finally has the opportunity after Joy had a miscarriage, he shows Bennie the door. Trying to do anything and everything to stop him from contacting Joy. But when Joy comes across Bennie again three years later, they instantly connect again and Bennie has the best business idea. Start a podcast called ‘This story might save your life’. Dangerous scenarios, survival tactics but also a lot of humor. After they do a tour to begin this adventure, they seemed to have hit it off. People love what they’re ‘selling’ and so they become a huge deal.
A 30-million-dollar deal is on the table which makes Xander almost impossible to live with and he’s been abusive as of late. When one day they both go missing, a whole new can of worms is opened. Bennie is slowly losing his mind with worry for his best friend and when a body has been found he can’t hold it in much longer. What happened? Is the body that has been found that of Joy? If not, where the hell is she and is she save?
I’m giving this book a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ star rating, it was fast paced and the banter was cool. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a romance though.
