Another day, another book. This time it was “The school trip” by Miranda Smith and what a book that was.
It’s every mother’s worst nightmare, I can tell you that.

Emma is a school teacher that teaches kindergarten, she’s a widow and single mother of 6-year-old Claire. Due to school policy, Claire is in another teacher’s class.
A school trip to the pumpkin patch, that’s what’s been planned for today with parents as chaperones for their own children, not all parents can make it, so the children that are “left behind” will be sorted in groups and divided between the four teachers. Claire wanting to be in her mother’s group obviously, and on school trips that’s okay.
The day goes by smoothly, as lunchtime approaches, the teachers’ assistants come with packed lunches for everyone. But, one girl is missing so a search party is set up and Emma and some others are going to the corn field maze to see if she’s there.
When the missing girls is found and brought back to her mother, another teacher comes forward. Claire is missing.
Surely, she’s just wandered off? But that’s not the case. She’s been kidnapped. The media sets Emma in bad daylight saying she should’ve watched her child better. The police are grasping at straws… Where is Claire?! Is she in danger?!
Slowly making progress, Emma is piecing things together and when she knows who did it, she goes out to get her girl back.
Will she find her?
In this book you will also read the thought process of the kidnapper. Which doesn’t seem to make sense at first but will in the end.
This was a good ⭐⭐⭐⭐star read.
