The 13th book in the Logan and Scarlett series is called “The girl under the sun” and is very different from the previous books.

Dan always seems to make a masterpiece of his books, it doesn’t get boring or predictable at all! I almost cried in the end and I have a very special kind of hatred for a character in this book. Let’s begin shall we.

Like I said, this book is a lot different from what we’re used to. Gone are the days of Wolf lurking in the shadow to give Scarlett extra insight about the unsub since they’re officially fugitives now. It’s where the hunter ends up being hunted, if you know what I mean.

Wolf takes Bell, Gardy and Harold to the desert in Arizona. There’s a little ghost town that’s been desolate for a long time, which is a perfect place to lay low. But not just for laying low, there is a new killer on the loose, someone that kills families out in the desert and displays them. When Bell hears a father and his 16-year-old daughter are missing; Bell switched gear. She wants nothing more then to find this girl, alive. But the desert is a threatorous place.

No shade, no food, next to nothing to drink and the scorching hot sun blazing down. The nights aren’t much better, it gets chilly rather fast and all the animals that don’t come out during the day will hunt for food.

The FBI has sent a team of 4 to find the killer and help find the missing family of three and father and daughter. But the lead Special Agent Sinclair has her eyes set on the price. She wants the three fugitives, so that’s where she and her team will focus on. Not the fact that there is a killer on the loose and multiple missing persons. This made me hate her character a lot, she doesn’t have an ounce of empathy, sympathy whatever. Only has eyes for vengeance.

Delaney has been hoping for someone to find her, praying for a passerby that would take her to safety, sadly there are none. She has been roaming the desert, living off of survival skills she learned in school for days on end, with a killer trying to find her.

Once it was known who the killer was, my mind was blown, I couldn’t believe it. I just could not!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars, again!
