Okay, I really need to stop reading Freida books. Where the Housemaid and the second one were absolute fire.. The last books seem to miss that deranged, somewhat “abusive” and stellar crime things..  

The Last couple of books are more stories that don’t have to be published and not stories that you just couldn’t put down, that are so deranged it’s gruesome and epic..  

This story contains various murders, petty fights, identity theft, fraudulent crimes and deranged behaviour. 

Blake, with an important job with good pay lives the dream. A nice brownstone home in NY. Engaged with Krista, who is drop-dead gorgeous. Everything seems to be smooth sailing until all comes crashing down. Some work secrets got sold to other parties, Blake gets the blame and loses his job. 

Without his job there is just no way to pay the mortgage. Because money is so tight, Krista has the idea of getting a tenant. Renting out one small but furnished room. They just can’t seem to find the right one. A psychic named Quillizebeth (probably writing it wrong) comes for a showing, a woman with a tinfoil hat, three capes. Blake thinks the woman has absolutely lost her marbles. When Q. Touches Krista’s hand she gasps and tells Krista to get out while she can, that Blake will kill her, in the living room. Well that’s a big fat no.  

Next is Whitney… Seems like a very nice woman, can move in right away, and is actually really pretty. As she’s moved in, they all get along fairly well but things will turn sour. Pretty soon Blake seems paranoid, makes the wrong choices. After weeks of falling out and blabbing on about how Whitney is out to get him, Krista has enough and moves out, saying they need to take a break. Even when she’s moved out the story is very slow in progression. After the petty stuff that happened and the out-of-control way Blake reacts it’s like you’ve read it. It gets boring. The end, yes it wasn’t what I expected entirely but it didn’t blow my mind either.  

Let’s just say that, if you think the tenant is the most obvious choice for the murders? You’re wrong. It also would be way to predictable if she was. 

So, I’m not giving it more than ⭐⭐,5 stars.
