We can check of another book from the January TBR list. *applause* The book I just finished is Run on Red by Noelle W. Ihli and was yet another banger of a book.

Run on Red is my third book by this author and I have four to go still. The books that I’ve read up to now by Noelle are all fast paced and insanely thrilling.

There was one typo and I don’t know if it’s because of it being trademarked or maybe you guys spell it differently in the US, but its Grey’s Anatomy, right? Not Gray’s…? That being the only thing that snagged my attention away from the story.

The only warning I can give when picking up a book by Noelle is that you just don’t want to put it down. I would’ve loved to have read the book in one sitting but I couldn’t; I can finally sleep! So, my nights are spent differently. Okay, let me tell you about this story!

Olivia is into sleuthing and spends a lot of time reading up on stuff that happened and sending interesting things she found to her roommate and friend Laura. There is bonfire night at Coffin Creek and their other friend Tish bailed last minute; which means Liv and Laur are driving to this bonfire together in a very old Volvo. A car that should’ve been at the junkyard long before, not even a window on the passenger’s side. When a car seems to be following them, Liv is the first to panic; with her thoughts going to doom scenarios in an instant.

Laura is the only calm one but that changes when the people in the truck show that they have bad intent. The road to small to make a turn because they’re well in cottonwood canyon. With fear and anxiety, a 3-point U-turn is done and Laura speeds away in her Volvo, loosing the truck’s lights in the rearview mirror. But not for long, with no cell service in the canyon and a long way to go for civilization they try to stay ahead, not ever thinking that the truck would ram them of the road, yet they do.

One of the two voices sounds vaguely familiar, but both don’t know where they know it from. After another failed attempt to run, they are taken to a secluded cabin and locked in a crawl space. One of the captors is so cruel, they both know that if they don’t get a message out to Tish that they’ll probably won’t make it out of that cabin alive.

This book is full of twists and turns and a longer review would only result in spoiling, that’s why I’m keeping this one smaller.

This book was a ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 star read for me!
