Liar Liar by James Patterson and Candice Fox is the third book in the Harriet Blue series and it’s a heart wrenching one. The previous book concluded with Harriet’s brother Sam being killed in prison and Regan Banks still at large.
This book had such a fast pace, I just didn’t want to put it down. Things just kept happening.

Harriet Blue has gone rogue after hearing of her brother’s murder. She hasn’t gone in to work, hasn’t even attended Sam’s funeral; She’s a woman on a mission. Finding and killing Regan Banks, he’s the reason Sam went to prison in the first place. With just a backpack filled with some essentials and a bit of cash and a new burner phone Harriet starts her journey.
Whitt, Harriet’s partner has faith in her but not all her colleagues are justifying what she’s doing; so, they make it hard on Whitt to do his job. Silly little things like misplacing the records he has on Banks. Going to the record room in the basement of the building Whitt can feel something isn’t right. He smells gun-powder, the lights are out which can’t be since there should be two people working. That’s when he stumbles upon his colleagues from the record room; shot and killed. But, for what purpose? Why did they have to die?
The chief AKA Pops gets side-railed by a higher up that’s taking over the case. The new guy; Woods has been known for wanting the limelight. Closing high profile cases with lots of media attention and trying to close those cases guns blazing instead of a carefully constructed plan.
Regan Banks is on a killing spree, going after the people that mean something to Harriet. Harriet has been a foster child so her birth parents are a no. But she has helped countless people with her job, the job that means the world to her. He wants to strip every good thing from Harriet so she’ll see she’s just as bad as him. With every death a new layer has been stripped.
With woods at the helm of this investigation and the conclusion of the story in sight; he has tactical teams roaming the woods with the order ‘shoot to kill’ which means that Harriet isn’t safe.
Will she do it? Does she have it in her to kill Regan Banks? What happens after? After months of being rogue, stealing cars… will she go to prison?
