Holly by Adalyn Grace

The Belladonna series by Adalyn Grace was so good, I didn’t expect to like it that much. When the third one ended, I knew the story was concluded but held hope for a novella; and here it is! Holly has just been released and is indeed a novella!

Aris has finally returned and will be celebrating Christmas with is wife Blythe; since it’s the first Christmas in his new body he reincarnated into and the first one with Blythe he wants to make the most of it; without any bad things happening. Wisteria Palace has been relocated to a small-town Blythe absolutely adores. The lot they choose to put wisteria on has been vetted by Sylas (also known as Death / The grim reaper), no lingering ghosts present, or so he said.

Before Signa sees any spirits, she can already feel them, which is not good since Sylas told them there weren’t any. But there were, a few dozen! Signa is someone who can see spirits and helps them with their unfinished business; But she has to look out when doing so because emotions can run high and when they are too high, spirits can actually possess someone.

In this book Signa is trying to help the spirits trapped in Wisteria to pass over but it isn’t all as straight forward as you think. The spirits are stuck in a loop, she notices some things like soot on their feet so something to do with a fire. Without any help from Sylas, she’ll get there. Only she can see those spirits since Sylas has been sent on a mission by Blythe to locate a lost item, she wants to give Aris for Christmas.

Aris doesn’t want Blythe to know that their house is haunted because that will contradict with a normal yet festive Christmas, but Blythe isn’t stupid… She’s trusting Aris will tell her soon enough. But Aris will go out of his normal way to do things he normally wouldn’t do, like caroling in town, play games he doesn’t wat to play.

This story revolves around the spirits that need to cross over, but also about love and friendship.

I can’t do a full-on review on this book since it’s a Novella and I would be spoiling if I did.

I’m giving this book a ⭐⭐⭐.5 star
