It’s a new year that is going to be filled with books and hopefully the possibility to read many ARC books. I was approved for the first book I’ve requested this year and it is by none other than Brianna Labuskes and it called ‘her beautiful life’ and is a pearl among books. This book has been published on the first of January of this year; so yes! You can order this book already.
I’ve been loving Brianna’s writing style after reading the Raisa Susanto series and I really hope that series will continue to. So, if Brianna writes a new book; You better believe I’ll be reading it.

This book has two timelines. A then, which takes place about 12 years prior and a now which are mere days leading up to the event.
Cat hates her roommate for the fact that she pact up and left without saying a word and with rent due in mere days! She has to find a roommate and soon! But the applicants she’s seen are not the best; one of them being a woman with way too many cats. Just one more applicant left; this one seems to click instantly and in comes Holland.
Holland being the pretty one and aspired writer still in college; Cat being the magnetic one working as a pastry chef, climbing the ladder because she seems to be the best in Savannah. The connection between the two was almost instant. When Cat is hospitalized after her boyfriend beats her up, the first person she calls is Holland. After that incident Holland seems to always be looking for bruises. Even when dating an ER doctor does Holland not ease up on her guard dog shtick. It’s been a year since Holland moved in; neither of the women ever had real friends let alone a best friend, so both don’t know where a line should be drawn.
The day after the funeral Holland accepts an internship with a magazine in NY, leaving Cat behind after one hell of a fight.
NOW.
Catriona has made some future for herself. Married just after Holland left with a millionaire and building a big happy family. Living on an orchard what could also be labeled as compound; Fenced in with a security guard at the entrance. The live of a trad wife influencer, I guess. Holland only has the weekend to get snippets for a great all tell story on Cat but not really knowing what to write about just yet. After this weekend, the story would follow; she’ll know what to write about.
Catriona’s husband Kris seems kind but there seems to be something not quite right. The snippets of live they share with their following is trad wife extraordinaire which means that within this family the traditional roles are being played out. Catriona is the wife and mother but also the housekeeper and cook and Kris is the breadwinner. That’s what all the little clips they share portray. What surprised Holland was that they actually have a nanny to mind the children and a cook to help with meals.
Nothing within this house seems honest, nothing seems legit. Everyone has another opinion about Kris and Cat; their personalities and such. The ending of this book is one with a big boom; one I didn’t expect and surprised me.
I’m giving this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐,5 stars
