After reading the first two books in my ’26 in 26’ challenge I’ve put all the books on my TBR in a spin the wheel to help me choose which four books to read this month. I have a lot of series, only the first title of the series was put in my spin the wheel. This month’s reads are as follows;
Sabaa Tahir – Heir
Noelle Ihli – Run on Red
Sophie Cousens – The good part
Shani Michelle – You should have seen it coming.
I think I might have time left and there are some books releasing this month that I want to read very much, those will be the books I’ll be reading if I have time left this month and might start the next month with because why not.

The first book the TBR spin the wheel choose was Heir by Sabaa Tahir which was a very good book, there are two pages worth of names, places etc and how they should be pronounced, I just gave my own spin on things of how I thought they might sound because two pages worth of pronunciations isn’t something my brain will save.
In this book you have different kinds of people, different continents that have lived in peace and with somewhat of a treaty to aid each other. There are people with and without magic. The people of Kegar are people born and raised in poverty; with different tribes with different specialties. The people of Kegar that can call upon the wind will become pilots of sail ships, a position Cero has been chosen for and Aiz wasn’t; not because she can’t call upon the wind, she just can’t control it.
Aiz and Cero have been raised by Cleric’s in a church among many more children that have lost their parents. The church worships a saint they name Mother Div; When Aiz’s lone mission fails she finds and hides a book, one that can’t be burned nor destroyed – for punishment she and all the clerics are sent off to prison, where no magic can be used and days are dark and cold, but when a holy spirit starts to talk to Aiz – she finds the strength to break herself out, get the book and is on a fool’s mission to find where her holy cleric Mother Div is imprisoned.
Laia of Serra – the teller of the ninth sacred tale that’s who Aiz needs to find, surely, she can give her the information she needs the find her beloved saint? When she finds Laia and her people who remind me of travelers; she gets to stay with them for months, so Laia can help her with this story, one Laia can’t even remember telling. Aiz won’t be using her name of her nationality on this mission. On this mission she’ll be known as Ilar of Ankana; daughter of the evening star.
There is a monster roaming this earth and it’s feeding of the innocent and pure. Sirsha is the best tracker, a Jaduna banished from her own people. She is smart yet dumb enough to make a blood oath to find and kill this monster but the money she gets paid when her job is done is worth it, she thinks. She simply didn’t know how strong this monster actually is, that even the strongest aren’t a match for it.
In her quest in finding this monster, her path crosses with Quill; Heir of the empire. His engineer and one of his closest friends Suf. While Quill has saved her live, she learns that they are on the same kind of quest. They’ll join forces even though she had always been a lone wolf.
I can’t go on without spoiling so I won’t. This book is the first one I’ve read by Sabaa Tahir and I know the reviews are split. If you’ve read her previous series, you might be disappointed by this one, at least that’s what I’ve been reading on Goodreads; I haven’t read those.
I’m giving this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars, can’t wait for the second one.
