Fifty Fifty by James Patterson, is the second book in the Harriet Blue series; the first one being `Never Never`. With a little over 150 books on my TBR and always picking up the newest that got delivered I had to do things a bit different. I saw a reader introducing ‘Spinderella’ and I loved it! So, I put all my TBR books in there and let it spin.

With one less book on my TBR and loving the book it picked for me, here is my review.

Harriet has a tendency to swear a lot and is quite violent. If you can’t handle a somewhat vulgar woman, you might want to skip.

In the previous book, Harriet’s brother Sam got arrested and accused of being the Georges River Killer. Harriet really does not believe her sweet brother could’ve done the things they accuse him of; so, she’s looking into the case hoping to find inconsistencies.

Her being the only copper that believes Sam’s innocence it is tough. Harriet has a violent streak, which lands her a job in the desert far away from Sam’s case and the trial that is happening. But also, far away from trying to figure out who the hell is trying to frame her brother.

The case she’s been given is a hard one, the ex-chief of police from a small town called ‘Last Chance Valley’ has been bombed to smithereens, they need to pick up the pieces and figure out who has an affinity with making bombs and what motive there was to do such a heinous thing. With a population of 75 and only one police officer all the help they can get is welcomed.

Besides Harriet there’s also a specialist on terrorism called in named Kash. With a diary found with explicit plans on massacring the entire town, time is of the essence in finding out what the hell is going on. With only 75 people living in the valley, it can’t be that hard to figure it out now, can it?

With her partner Whitt and old friend Tox figuring out who framed Sam, they need to find a girl who has been kidnapped. An eyewitness who has escaped kidnapping herself told the police about what the man looked like and that after failing to get her, he kidnapped another girl. It’s been months, is she still alive? Where could she be? It seems like finding the missing girl is the key to cracking this case. But will they do so in time?

I do love this series, this book is a solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐,5
