Bunny – Mona Awad
I actually have a bit of difficulty writing a review on this one, this book was so weird. Samantha is a student at Warren, a university for the Arts. She is in her graduation year, so there is not much time left. One thing she hates about Warren? The bunnies; A clique of girls that call each other bunny and are way to optimistic for this world. But once she gets invited to a bunny event and is slowly brainwashed into becoming one of them, it just gets weirder and weirder.

My husband’s wife – Alice Feeney
The Queen of mindf*cks has done it again; writing a deliciously psychological book. When a woman goes for a run before, she goes to her first art exhibition and arrives home to get dressed, her key doesn’t fit in the lock, but how, why? When a woman claiming to be her opens the door, she thinks she might be losing the plot. Her husband also says he doesn’t know her which leaves one other person that can identify her, her daughter that hasn’t spoken in 10 years since the accident. When she’s there and her daughter whispers ‘You. Are. Not. My. Mother.’ She can’t believe her ears. The next day Eden goes missing.
The house Saphir – Marissa Meyer
The Fontaine sisters are frauds. Yes, their mother was a well-known witch; but they are not. Mallory has had a fascination for Monsieur Le Bleu; a wealthy man that killed his wives. His house actually stands in her hometown and has been long ago abandoned; but that isn’t where all the excitement is about. When a descendant from Le Bleu proposes a job, she can’t resist even though she doesn’t know how she can actually expel a dark spirit from an estate; but she’s a con artist, she can figure something out. This haunting is on a whole other level though and is quite dangerous.

Dead in the water – John Marrs
This was one of the hardest books to review without spoiling but I think I did a good job. Damon is in his twenties, has been divorced and isn’t where he wanted to be in live. Spicing things up by making a deal with Mel -his ex- to do something out of their comfort zone once a month. Out of his comfort zone is easy, make him swim in an ocean, but when Mel can’t see him anymore, she starts to panic. Did a rip current get him? Once she finally located him and swims him safely back to the shore, she starts CPR immediately. When he finally comes round his first question is ‘Did you see the boy?!’
Woman Down – Colleen Hoover
Petra has had writers block ever since her book got picked up as a movie adaption; it flopped because they cut out a very vital character. The cancel culture and the hate that was spread online, Petra choose to stay of her socials for a while. After 1,5 years of writing her newest novel with only 20 pages – she needs peace and quiet; renting a cabin for a couple of weeks and focus on writing and writing alone. Little does she know that the perfect distraction / muse will come to her within the first few days of her stay.

You should have seen this coming – Shani Michelle
When Hayden transfers to Lightsent she had enough experience with schools to know how to make herself feared. Blackmailing kids for money is something she does because she really needs the money and the other kids have shiploads of it. But how does she know the stuff worth blackmailing someone over? Hayden has visions of the past so she saw things happening. When Cassie from school goes missing Hayden will help trying to find her and with that finally makes some friends that have her back.
The Good Part – Sophie Cousens
This book is the BEST. It’s a mix of the films BIG with Tom Hanks and 13 going on 30 with Jennifer Garner. Lucy’s live is an absolute mess, no money to her name, living in a flat with weird flat mates (her best friend excluded) not even mentioning the dates are horrible. When on one night she comes across a wishing machine and a nice lady hands over a coin, she has one wish; just the one. Please, Skip to the good part of my live. When she wakes up, she is in another room? There’s a man sleeping next to her, but she can’t remember hooking up. When she sneaks to the bathroom and checks herself in the mirror she can’t believe her eyes.

Run on Red – Noelle W. Ihli
When you’re into sleuthing and like documentaries about serial killers, are happier indoors then when socializing; a bonfire night at Coffin Creek with your best friend isn’t ideal. Anxiety running high and then, your worst nightmare becomes true. Being followed by a truck, eventually run of the road and then abused and abducted. But one voice sounds familiar, just not that familiar. Who hates them so much to want them dead?
Heir – Sabaa Tahir
My first book by Sabaa Tahir and what a mindblowing one it was. When one born in the slums is tired of being mistreated and believes a holy cleric talks to her – it’s time to stand up for her people. Breaking out of prison and fulfilling this mission is what she was put on this earth for, or so she believes; Her name? Aiz. – A tracker, one of the best in what she does gets hired to hunt down a monster. Someone that feeds of the pure and innocent, the amount she will get when this job is over? Enough to make a dumb mistake in accepting a blood oath. Her name? Sirsha. – Lastly, a prince that has been with tribe Saif since he was little, becoming one of the best warriors but also living in a loving environment but when he’s of age, his aunt wants him to step up. But then, all hell breaks lose and the empire is overtaken by Kegari. His mission will cross paths with previous ladies. His name? Quill.

Darling Girls – Sally Hepworth
Jessica had been with her foster mother Miss Fairchild since she was four; being the only girl and not having to go to school yet, Miss Fairchild was her whole universe. Just how Miss Fairchild loved it; being the most important part of someone’s life. Once that changed, the loveable environment slowly disappeared. When Jessica was ten, two more girls joined. Live was hard, the rules were not normal and once Jessica was fourteen, all three girls were taken to a different group home. Sisters they called themselves. When years later the plot was sold and the house demolished, a body of a baby was found and with that the girls needed to head back to a period in their live they hated so much.
Spectacular – Stephanie Garber
This novella was beautifully illustrated and the story was okay-ish. It wasn’t a story that needed to be published persé because it kind of lacked the Caraval Magic. Tella is a princess and doesn’t like this new protective lifestyle and with the holiday festivities tomorrow and her not having a present for Legend she wanders to a unique store but instead of finding a present; she gets drugged and taken.
