After DNFing my fourth 26 in 26 challenge book it was time to pick up my last ARC for now which was by none other then Cassandra Clare. Can you believe that the Shadowhunter series has 21(!!!!) books? This one was a novella called A Sea Change.

This novella will be released on the 28th of April.

Matthew has been traveling for quite some time now, being away from the institute in London and his friends and family and is now on the last part of his travel. Travelling to Constantinople to visit his best friend James, this time by boat having rented a very accommodating cabin in Parisian style. Having glamoured his appearance to mix in with the mundane folk so he won’t be recognized as a Shadowhunter; yet trouble has a way of finding him.

Startled by a very loud sound Matthew is drawn to a scene he didn’t expect on board a ship. The sound indicated a body overboard but once Matthew took a closer look, he knows that’s not all that happened to this body, when someone he’s met on board calls him away under some pretense to get him in a secluded area to warn him about not having glamoured himself, Sylvain has spotted his Shadowhunter mark.

Both Sylvain and Matthew clocked the vampires on board, knowing the body that has supposedly fallen overboard had endured something else, drowning not being one of them, but they have to wait until dawn to look the body over more closely. Not wanting to draw attention to themselves.

It’s a true adventure and they are almost duty-bound to solve this murder, but it’s not only a killer they eventually find; they also find love for each other and forgiveness.

I’m giving this book a ⭐⭐⭐⭐star rating.
