Even though my reviews on the books by Freida McFadden are very mixed; when I got the opportunity to read her soon to be released book ‘Want to know a secret?’ I couldn’t skip. I’m kind of glad I did read this because it way an okay book.
This book will be released on the 3rd of March.

In about 60% of this book we’ll be following from April’s point of view. The ultimate housewife because she has her own baking show on YouTube, always has delicious baked goodies on hand. It gave me the good American housewife vibes. When someone new moves in on the street, they get welcomed by April with loads of cookies. Her best friend is Julie, she worked as a DA in Manhattan but stopped once she got married and had kids. Julie’s youngest son Leo is the same age as April’s son which they connected over.
April is always the happy go merry person in a group and is instantly likeable; but behind closed doors, her live isn’t as happy. Her husband Elliot is a lawyer and had an affair, years prior, where he wants to have a big family, they can’t seem to get pregnant again which puts a strain on their marriage. When April starts getting weird and somewhat threatening text, she’s slowly losing the plot. After just wrapping up on filming for her YouTube channel she wants to give her son something for his good behavior. The rule is, when mommy is filming, he’s either playing in his room or in the backyard and no interrupting. That’s when the first text comes in. Want to know a secret? Your son isn’t where you think he is.
Things escalate quite quickly and you somewhat think this book is so predictable even boring… Then part two begins. Julie’s part.
And little did you know, April isn’t to be messed with. She’s actually pretty dangerous if she feels the live as she knows it is being threatened. In Julie’s part she takes us from the point of moving in on the block al the way to everything she finds out in the meantime. Conclusion; Julie wants to stay as far away from April as she can, no time for playdates, giving April the more boring tasks for PTA things. Trying to get justice for some, but that’s a dangerous game.
I’m giving this book a ⭐⭐⭐.5 star rating – The last chapter gave me the creeps, did not see that coming.
