Just finished “Accomplice of the villain” by Hannah Nicole Maehrer, the third book read this vacation.
Accomplice to the Villain is the third book in the “Assistant to the villain” series, this series is definitely a series I’ll be reading again; possibly for getting out of a reading slump because this book is fun, witty, serious, fantastical and hilarious.

Evie Sage has been promoted from assistant to apprentice and now in book three to Accomplice. With the magic of Rennedawn fading and Trystan’s magic being out of control when Evie is around, he is taking a distance even if it’s the hardest thing he’s ever done. How can you distance from someone that’s your right hand? A strikingly gorgeous right hand at that.
Evies’ mom Nura has come back, Evie has pictures her mom coming back for years, hoping things could go and would go back to normal but the truth is… Evie is bitter for all she undured in Nura’s absence and all she endured before that. Losing the chance to have a childhood and then having to raise her sister Lyssa, she can’t just be the daughter her mother wishes her to be. The supportive, bubbly kind that’ll always does as mother says, she’s an adult now who’s making her own choices. Lyssa is still wary of her mother, not remembering her at all, so it’s like meeting a stranger that’s calling herself a mother.
Becky has been the Massacre Manors HR person that has run a tight ship on things. Having left the Fortis family because she didn’t want to be molded to what her mother wanted her to be. So, closing herself off, protecting her feelings and not making friends was a thing she did for years until she met Evie and Blade and then came Lyssa. Her heart being opened little by little with the presence of this little girl. In this one, she actually confesses to have fallen in love. Yay, Becky!
This book, filled with betrayal and a quest to fulfill the prophecy to save Rennedawn and its magic which is hard because Trystan thinks Kingsley (the frog) has to be turned back human to fulfill the last part but Trys has been looking for about 10 years to undo this curse without success. Will they succeed this time?
Absolutely ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(!!!) stars!
